Recology San Benito County is proud to be your garbage and recycling collector in the City of Hollister, San Juan Bautista, and the unincorporated areas of San Benito County.
Our comprehensive collection program takes care of your curbside recycling, garbage, yard waste, used motor oil, used oil filters, and household batteries.
Wondering What Bin it goes in?
Grass, branches, leaves, and plants go in your 96-gallon yard waste cart. Please do not put yard waste in plastic bags. Plastic bags go in your landfill cart. Yard waste collection is an additional service fee.
Paper, bottles, cans, aluminum, glass, and most plastics go in your 64-gallon recycling cart. These items are then sorted by material-type and reused. To learn more about what is recyclable, please download our guides.
What is trash? Not much! Styrofoam, cat litter, ceramics, and broken glass to name a few.
Please contact us for rate information.
Recycling is collected with a fully automated truck that uses a mechanical arm to retrieve the cart and place it back on your curb. Using the fully automated system makes the placement of the carts more important than ever – the mechanical arm needs to be able to grab a cart without touching the other carts.
- All garbage and recycling containers should be placed at the curb or roadside the night before your service day, or by 6:00 AM on your service day.
- Place all waste inside your containers with lid closed. Do not place waste materials on top, or next to your garbage cart. You may dispose of occasional excess garbage by calling our office at least a day before your service day. Fees apply.
Americans with Disabilities Act
Disabled residents (pursuant to Americans with Disabilities Act) who are unable to place their containers at the curb have the option of placing their containers beside their home, visible from curbside. Please let us know.
