Holiday Tree Collection
Give your natural tree new life at the end of the season, at no additional cost.
- Single family residents: Set your tree by the curb on your compost day, from December 26th until the third Friday in January.
- Multi-family complexes: Appointment required. Property managers, contact us to schedule.
Set Out Instructions
Large trees
- Remove decorations, tinsel, metal or plastic stands, and any other artificial elements
- Cut large trees into pieces no longer than 5ft
- Place trees at curb where they can be easily seen and accessed by drivers
Small trees can be cut into pieces and placed in your compost cart for regular collection. Please ensure the cart’s lid closes flat.
Flocked trees cannot be recycled or composted. Place small, flocked trees in your trash cart. Large, flocked trees can still be collected curbside during holiday tree collection, but they will be landfilled. Follow instructions above. To reduce waste, consider a natural, unflocked tree next holiday season.

Residents have the following options to compost natural trees
- Cut trees into 3ft sections and place them in your compost cart for regular service
- Schedule an On-Call Plus pickup appointment
- Call Customer Service and request a voucher to self-haul to SMaRT Station
