RECYCLING & GARBAGE
Recyclables and garbage should be placed in your grey cart. It is not necessary to sort the material as it will be taken to a materials recovery facility (MRF) and sorted for you. This includes paper, bottles, cans, plastics, ceramics, and glass to name a few! NO household hazardous waste or construction debris such as concrete, wood waste, and drywall.

  • To transfer or to vacate premises contact our office so that charges can be terminated.
  • Temporary stops during vacation or other periods of non-occupancy may be requested one time per calendar year. Please call in advance of the requested stop period.

Rocklin Residents: The ordinances of the City of Rocklin require that you maintain refuse collection service. Balances past due more than 120 days may be declared delinquent and may result in the imposition of a property tax lien. Delinquent balances that are liened for collection are subject to a 15% City processing fee plus a 1% County processing fee.

Carts & Cart Sizes
In most areas, customers may choose to use their own 32-gallon container, which will be maintained by the customer. If you provide your own cans, they must be no larger than 32 gallons, weigh no more than 50 pounds when full, and have handles and tight-fitting lids. With this level of service, green waste containers are not available.

If requested, Recology Auburn Placer will provide 96-gallon containers. Rates vary depending on the amount of material collected. These carts are Recology Auburn Placer property and are provided free of charge. However, the 96-gallon cart represents an increased level of service and you will be charged at the rate determined for collection service. Should you damage the cart, a replacement fee will be charged to your account.

Cart Placement
We recommend that refuse should be curbside the night before your collection day. Refuse must be at curbside by 5:00 AM on your collection day. Refuse above the level of your container will be collected and additional charges will apply.

PLEASE NOTE THAT HAZARDOUS WASTE MAY NOT BE DISPOSED OF IN THE TRASH
Something is hazardous if it can catch fire, react or explode when mixed with other substances, or if it is toxic. Some examples are leftover paint, solvents, used oil, car batteries, poisons, ammunition, and some cleaners. [Effective February 9, 2006, hazardous waste definitions were expanded to include electronic and universal wastes including, but not limited to, televisions and computer monitors; computer peripherals; telephones; answering machines; video and audio record and play equipment; calculators; fluorescent and high-intensity discharge light tubes, bulbs and lamps; alkaline and rechargeable batteries.] Liquids are also not allowed in the trash.

If you experience a missed collection, please call our office within 48 hours of your missed pickup. If you forgot to set your trash out, there will be a special pickup charge.

We do not work on Christmas or New Year’s Day. Pickup will be made one day late on those days.
