The Recology Store is your neighborhood destination where you can Shop, Learn, and Recycle!

Attention: Effective April 14, 2024 our Shoreline Recology Store location is temporarily closed while we address repairs due to flooding. We appreciate your understanding during this time and encourage you to visit us in our Bothell, Burien or Issaquah stores until we can reopen. Updates will be shared here, as well as our Instagram and Facebook pages.

Looking for some easy swaps to products you use in your daily life to reduce waste?  We can help!  Curious what changes you can make in your routine to live more sustainably?  Just ask!  Do you have challenging items like Styrofoam, textiles, or household batteries that you want to keep out of the landfill?  We can take them for recycling!

Supporting our company mission to create a World Without Waste, The Recology Store offers a wide variety of products that support a zero-waste lifestyle. Whether you’re looking for gifts, housewares, accessories, or a refill station to stock up on cleaning and self-care products, The Recology Store is Rethinking Retail!

The products sold at The Recology Store are mindfully selected and meet at least one of the following criteria:

  • Made from recycled and/or upcycled materials
  • Part of a circular economy, considering their environmental impact from the beginning of their life cycle to the end
  • Designed to replace single-use items with long-lasting alternatives
  • Educational, teaching tips on how to live more sustainably
  • Made locally to our stores in Washington State

All four of our locations also accept hard-to-recycle items in keeping with our goal to minimize materials sent to landfills. These special items include: CFL light bulbs, household batteries, textiles, hard-cover books, small electronics and appliances, block Styrofoam™, and bicycles.

If we pick up at your house, you can drop off at our store! Recology King County residential customers may drop off limited quantities of our accepted hard-to-recycle items at any Recology Store location.

The Recology Store has great alternatives for many of the health and beauty items typically housed in plastic.  Bamboo toothbrushes, glass jars of toothpaste, shave soap bars, shampoo bars and more fill the shelves in our stores!

The Recology Store offers a great selection of wooden toys, educational books, stainless steel bottles, and other zero waste items catered to children.  Whether it’s a gift for someone else, or a sustainable addition to your household, we’ve got you covered.

Kitchen

Easy swaps in the kitchen can help you cut back on what you’re putting into the landfill.  Replace your disposable sandwich bags with reusable ones, your plastic bottle of dish soap with a dish bar, and your plastic wrap with a beeswax wrap…and you’re well on your way!

Reusable Bottles

One of the easiest ways to reduce waste is to carry a reusable bottle with you wherever you go! We offer a wide variety of brands, sizes, and colors to help you choose one that best fits your personality!

 

Bulk

Bulk products don’t just save you money, they also reduce the need for plastic packaging. We offer dishwasher detergent, laundry detergent, fabric softener, laundry pods, shampoo, and more. Bring your own container, fill it up, and feel good every time you use it!

Gifts

We carry a unique variety of products made from recycled and upcycled materials – wallets made from Alaska Airline airplane seats and purses made from recycled beer filters, just to name a few. Make your gift meaningful by giving an item that has a great story and has made a positive impact on the planet!

 

 

Our Recycling Programs

The Recology Stores accept 11 types of hard-to-recycle items, including small appliances, textiles, batteries, bikes, hardcover books, electronics, fluorescent bulbs, propane cylinders, and StyrofoamTM . In fact, we’ve collected over 1,072,000 gallons of StyrofoamTM since The Recology Stores opened!

If Recology is not your curbside provider, you can still drop off hard-to-recycle items at The Recology Store for a minimal fee depending on material. See our list for an overview of fees here or call our store for more details.

Customer Assistance

Recology believes in excellent customer service. One way we engage with our customers is by offering in-person opportunities to discuss your Recology service at our store locations. Come into any of our four stores to pay your bill, make changes to your account, or learn more about what goes in what bin.
