On August 31, 2021, Governor Newsom signed Assembly Bill 332 which takes effect immediately. AB332 adopts new Alternative Management Standards (AMS) for treated wood waste. As a result of the new bill, all treated wood waste variances issued by DTSC since March 2021 are now inoperative. The variances are no longer necessary because they have been replaced by the AMS.

Treated wood waste may be accepted at the Transfer Station if the generator’s identification number is provided when dropping off the material. If the generator does not have an identification number, the name, address, contact person’s name, mailing address, and telephone number must be provided when dropping off the material.

Please note: Treated wood waste must be separated from fencing panels and construction and demolition debris loads (ie: place TWW on top of load).
