Recology sees a world without waste. This vision guides us in all that we do. As a hauler, recycler, and composter we strive to do all that we can to divert materials from landfills, and instead have them used, and reused over and over. Transforming that which is discarded into the building blocks of tomorrow.

To bring our vision to reality, we aim to create a circular economy that has buy-in from everybody within that economy – consumers, producers, policymakers, governments, civic organizations, and haulers alike.

Earlier this month, we had the opportunity to do just that.  Recology King County brought together stakeholders from all parts of the economy to discuss the need to work in tandem to improve the circularity of items coming through our recycling system.  Takeaways from this roundtable were:

      • Policymakers need to drive legislation that builds off the recycling infrastructure we already have
      • The development of incentives for producers to improve the recyclability and reusability of their products

Thank you to Congresswoman Kim Schrier (WA-8), King County, Coca-Cola, Dr. Pepper, Zero Waste Washington, Ocean Health, and the others that partook.  We are excited by what the future holds, and the impact of our continued partnership!
