I am an East Bay based Eritrean American interdisciplinary artist and urbanist working to honor and better the lives of people and places that have built and nurtured me. I work with my many communities in the greater San Francisco Bay Area and abroad. I am dedicated to advancing and supporting larger sustainable and community development goals through art production, cradle to career initiatives, and just transition strategies.
My work takes on many formats, varying from technical professional reports to poetic manifestos. I intentionally weave in concepts about identity politics, diaspora studies, and black feminism in everything I create. My hope is to produce work that is as dynamic and prolific as the places I call home.
I am an MA in City & Regional Planning candidate at UC Berkeley and hold a BFA from California College of the Arts.
Pre COVID I could be found lake side drinking boon (coffee) and dreaming with my haftetat (sisters) + friends.
