Sarah Wolf Newlands arranges familiar things like clothing, curtains and socks into formal compositions.  An assistant professor in the University Studies department at Portland State University, she holds an MFA in painting from PSU and a BFA in painting from the Rhode Island School of Design.  Her work has been featured in The Oregonian, Willamette Week and the Portland Tribune, among other publications.  She has a long history of both group and solo exhibitions.
