Accepted Bulky Items:
- Household appliances, including refrigerators
- Washers & dryers
- Water heaters
- Dishwashers and other similar “white goods”
- Single item construction debris, doors, toilets, sinks, plumbing fixtures
- Lawn mowers (oil & fuel drained)
- Up to nine (9) tires and
- Up to 2 cubic yards of bundled green waste
For large items that don’t fit or belong in your bins, like old furniture, appliances, or mattresses, residents may schedule a curbside bulky item pickup.*
Customers may schedule two curbside pickups annually at no cost. If you exceed your number of free pickups, you may request additional collections for a fee.
Bulky item collections are scheduled on your service day. Once you’ve scheduled your pickup, please ensure that your items are at the curb the evening before your scheduled collection.
Your bulky items may not exceed 2 cubic yards, or 500 lbs in total. No single item can exceed 200 lbs.
We do not accept the following items for bulky item pickup: concrete, soil or hazardous waste such as batteries, paint, insecticides, fluorescent tubes, or oil filters. To dispose of hazardous materials, please contact the Humboldt Waste Management Authority (HWMA).
Customers can schedule bulky item collections for a fee. Businesses may utilize this service on a daily basis or as needed. Give us a call to receive an estimate.
