| Cart cleaning | Recology provides free cart cleaning for resident carts: once per year for food & yard carts, once every two years for garbage carts, and once every three years for recycle carts. |

*Each calendar year, Maple Valley residential customers may request a free collection of up to two (2) bulky items such as furniture (couches, large chairs, etc.) or refrigerant and non-refrigerant appliances to be collected at the curb. Customers may also request to place up to one (1) cubic yard of garbage once each year at the curb for collection on the customer’s regular collection day, provided that any individual item is no larger than three feet (3’) by three feet (3’). To schedule on-call removal of a bulky item, please submit a bulky item removal request form or contact customer service at 425.413.1555 or maplevalley@recology.com.
Discounts:
Please note that Recology now offers a low-income/senior/disabled discount for residents which provides a 50% discount on garbage service. To qualify, residents need to provide Recology with documentation of their qualification for the King county tax exemption. To apply for the exemption, visit King County’s Senior Exemption Portal.
A 1$/month discount will be provided automatically for customers are set up with online billing and autopay.
Recycling
Maple Valley residential garbage service includes recycling collection at no additional charge. Your recycling cart will be emptied every other week on your garbage collection day.
