Employee-owned resource recovery company, Recology Inc., and Tahoe Truckee Disposal Co., Inc. (TTDC) jointly announce they have entered into a definitive purchase agreement for Recology to acquire TTDC. TTDC is a family-owned waste and recycling company serving the North Lake Tahoe, Truckee, and greater Sierra region. The transaction is expected to close this fall, subject to receipt of certain approvals and satisfaction of customary closing conditions.

TTDC has served the region for 62 years, providing waste collection to approximately 31,000 residential and commercial customers throughout the Town of Truckee and Placer, Nevada, and El Dorado Counties.

Customers will see no changes to their service, rates, or collection schedules as a result of this announcement, and community programs will be continued. TTDC will continue to operate independently until the transaction closes. Both companies are committed to a smooth transition and keeping customers and the community informed of any future changes.

Following the close of the transaction, TTDC’s operations, employees, and customers will become a part of Recology under the new name Recology Tahoe Truckee.

Recology and TTDC will work closely with local jurisdictions and franchise partners throughout the transition.
