On Friday, December 12th at the Bella Bottega Shopping Center, Recology and the City of Redmond celebrated the grand opening of the new Redmond Recology Store.
The Recology Store offers a convenient place for residents to bring hard-to-recycle items, receive quality customer service, and gain expert guidance on waste reduction. The opening also marked the start of Recology’s new partnership with the City of Redmond to deliver expanded waste and recycling services beginning January 1, 2026.
“The opening of our Redmond Store reflects Recology’s dedication to helping communities achieve a world without waste,” said Anthony Brocato, General Manager, Recology King County. “By partnering with the City of Redmond, we’re supporting local communities through accessible recycling programs, education, and reliable waste solutions that keep materials in use and out of the landfill.”
“This store is a great example of the enhanced customer service Redmond residents can expect from Recology, as well as Recology’s commitment to sustainability practices,” said Redmond Mayor Angela Birney. “I’m proud of the work that city staff did to get us here, and I look forward to our partnership with Recology going forward.”
The Recology Store joins four other Recology locations throughout King County, which collectively diverted over 5,000 tons of material from landfill in 2024, preventing over 10,000 metric tons of CO2 emissions. Each store serves as a local hub for educational workshops, in-person customer service, and community engagement.
With Recology’s new services launching in January, Redmond residents and business will benefit from expanded recycling options, reliable weekly pickup, and access to expert guidance from Recology’s Waste Zero team on proper sorting and diversion. These efforts directly support Recology and the City of Redmond’s long-term sustainability objectives to reduce waste, lower greenhouse gas emissions, and build a cleaner, more sustainable future.
