Attention, Issaquah Residents,
In response to the recent storm event, Recology is providing free collection of extra yard waste material (in addition to current 192 gallon limit) of up to ninety-six (96) gallons of material for your next two collection cycles, from Monday, 12/22 through Saturday, 1/3. This is available only to residents subscribed to food & yard waste services.
Extra yard waste can be placed in the following conditions:
-
- A paper/kraft bag
- Bundled with twine (not to exceed 4’x2’x2′ per bundle)
- Biodegradable Products Institute (BPI) certified compostable bag
- For a list of what is accepted in your Food & Yard Waste cart, visit our Sorting Guide page.
An example of the total material allowed for placement for collection would be: 2x 96 gallon carts, plus 3 craft bags or bundles.

Please also note that Recology offers curbside bulky item curbside collection to remove certain items for a fee. Service for bulky items must be scheduled in advance by the Recology bill payer and items must be placed next to your blue recycling cart on your collection day. Doors must be removed from refrigerators and freezers. This option is available on a first-come, first-served basis and residents impacted by the floods will be prioritized.
The following items are available to be requested to be collected curbside:
-
- Large appliances, such as stoves, dishwashers, and washing and drying machines
- Refrigerators and freezers
- Water heaters
- Furniture
- Televisions
- Mattresses and box springs
