The City of Tukwila is inviting young artists to showcase their creativity while promoting sustainability in the 2026 Earth Day season.
Project Recycle Right, presented by the City of Tukwila and Recology King County, is now accepting entries for its 2026 Earth Day Art, Photo, and Video Contest. The competition encourages students to share messages about reducing waste, reusing items, and recycling correctly through drawings, photographs, or short videos (60 seconds or less).
Students are encouraged to use their creativity to inspire the community to “reduce, reuse, recycle — and recologize” this Earth Day.
The contest is open to all K–12 students who live in or attend school in Tukwila. Winners will have their work presented to the Tukwila City Council and featured on city and Recology King County websites, social media, and in an Earth Day news release. Select pieces may also be displayed at Westfield Southcenter Mall.
Prizes include gift cards ranging from $50 to $300 for elementary, middle, and high school categories, plus a $150 award for the best group project. A $400 classroom supplies prize will also be awarded to the teacher with the most submissions from a single class.
