Yiming Clara is an artist raised in Beijing, living and working in Berkeley, CA. Working across sculpture, installation, performance, and social engagement, she is interested in how we move about in the world traversing between surfaces of material and of social construction. Her work takes impressions of the familiar as medium and constructs situations that open onto new potential worlds. Her recent solo exhibition, 似曾相识 ｜ Dance, in Theater with Window, was presented at Slash in San Francisco. She is the founder of 202019: Occasions, a nomadic project space for exhibitions, performances, events, and publications made in alternative ways and places.
She is currently studying at University of California, Berkeley and Laney College.
