Minoosh Zomorodinia is an Iranian-born interdisciplinary artist who makes visible the emotional and psychological reflections of her mind’s eye inspired by nature and her environments.
In her recent work, Zomorodinia has used walking as a medium to create imaginary spaces from the routes of her walk as if they are sites of homes. These delineated spaces draw boundaries in space and use the app to challenge the notion of power and ownership.
Zomorodinia has exhibited in the Bay Area at Yerba Buena Center for the Arts, San Francisco Arts Commission, Berkeley Art Center, and SOMARTS; and at Pori Art Museum, Finland; Nevada Museum of Art, Reno, NV; ProARTS, Kihei, HI; and Currents 826 Gallery, Santa Fe, NM. She was a YBCA100 Nominee and has been supported through a Kala Media Fellowship Award, Andy Warhol Foundation, and California Arts Council grant, and has had residencies with Headlands Center for the Arts, Ox-Bow School of Art and Artists’ Residency, I-park Foundation, Santa Fe Art Institute, and Djerassi. She holds an MFA from Azad University Tehran, Iran, and an MFA from the San Francisco Art Institute and is a former board member of Women’s Eco Artists Dialogue. She currently lives and works in the Bay Area.
