I am a painter interested in experimenting with narrative forms, and discussing ideas that expose the complex elements woven into both our cultural and personal histories.  Most of the images I use are found in magazines and books from the first half of the twentieth century, that seem desperately to want to simplify the intricacies of human relationships, with each other and with the natural world.  I attempt to find for the darker layers under the glossy veneer, that perhaps, tell a more complete story.  Locating new meaning within these images, that hindsight and personal experience can shed on our collective past.
