FAQ

I left my cart at the curb and recent plowing has left it in a snow bank. Will you be able to collect?

If you are able, please assist our haulers by shoveling snow/slush to allow access to your containers, or relocating your containers to a more accessible area.

Why haven’t I been collected yet?

This strong winter storm has created widespread unsafe road conditions impacting solid waste collection services. Our highest priority is safety – of the communities we serve and our drivers. Garbage collection is in the top 5 most dangerous occupations, behind firefighters and police officers. When activating collection, we must consider the size of the collection vehicles (averaging over 50,000 lbs.), strenuous physical labor, and proximity to on-coming traffic – all create high risk that is exacerbated in snow and ice. You may see postal workers delivering mail, while garbage collections are not yet being completed. Rest assured that as soon as it is safe to do so, we will be out to collect.

When will I be collected?

**PLEASE NOTE: SERVICE COLLECTION SCHEDULES ARE SUBJECT TO CHANGE BASED ON WEATHER CONDITIONS**

As of Monday 2/11, all drivers have been called back in from their collection routes due to unsafe weather conditions. For customers who were not serviced during the week of 2/4-2/8, please bring your bins back in from the curb. We are actively developing a plan to service customers in the most safe, quick and effective way.

What’s your plan?

We have activated our inclement weather plan and our operations team is closely monitoring weather conditions. We are preparing for various storm scenarios. We will be posting updated collection information and service schedules on our website and social media channels, so please check back periodically. Our customer service team will also be aware of any updates in real time. We understand this is an inconvenience and greatly value and recognize your reliance on our service – we will do our best to collect you as quickly, safely and effectively as possible.

What am I supposed to do with extra material?

Here are some tips to storing extra material:

  • Fill current bin to capacity
  • Place extra bags next to current garbage bin
  • Store in personal extra container labeled “garbage”
  • Store waste in storage containers, unwanted cardboard boxes, etc.

Will my account be credited if I was not serviced?

No credit is given for postponed collection due to weather conditions, but the equivalent volume of the missed week’s collection plus the current week’s material will be collected at no additional cost.
