2019 Artist in Residence Application Deadline January 15!
Recology CleanScapes’ Artist in Residence (AIR) Program seeks to inspire communities to think critically about waste, and encourage individuals to recycle and conserve natural resources. The program provides local artists the opportunity to create art using materials gathered from the company’s recycling facility in South Seattle.
- Program Overview:
Artists receive access to a wide range of materials that flow through the recycling facility, materials at the City of Seattle’s North Transfer Station, and materials collected at The Recology Store. A shared studio space is provided, along with a $1,300 monthly stipend per artist. Recology also coordinates an exhibition and reception at the end of the residency.
The 2019 residency runs from April 1 – August 31. Applications will be accepted until January 15, 2019. Two artists will be selected to participate.
During the application process, we strongly encourage artists to tour our recycling facility. To reserve a spot on a tour and find out more about the program, contact Danielle Gambogi at firstname.lastname@example.org.
