RECYCLE
In keeping with our goal to minimize materials sent to landfills, The Recology Store accepts for recycling items that cannot be put into curbside recycling cart. These special items include: CFL light bulbs, household batteries, old textiles, hard-cover books, small electronics and appliances, block Styrofoam™, and bicycles.

If we pick up at your house, you can drop off at our store! Recology CleanScapes residential customers may drop off limited quantities of the hard-to-recycle items listed above at any Recology Store location. Non-customers may also drop off at The Recology Store for a minimal fee. Call stores for details.

Recology CleanScapes partners with InterConnection to help provide donated and refurbished computers to hundreds of nonprofits and thousands of low-income families every year.

LEARN
The Recology Store is staffed by a team of recycling experts who are available to provide in-person Customer Service support for our customers. Not sure which materials are supposed to go in the recycling or organics carts? Have an item that you think could be recycled or reused but you’re not sure what to do with it? Love the idea of backyard composting but don’t know how to get started? Want to pay your Recology CleanScapes bill in person? The staff at The Recology Store can help you with all of these questions and more.

BIKE RECYCLING
Each year, millions of bicycles end up in landfills. Recology CleanScapes teamed up with Bike Works to repair and reuse unwanted bicycles. Bring your old bicycle to Seattle’s north or south transfer station or King County’s Shoreline or Bow Lake transfer station, drop it in the big green box and your bike will be delivered to Bike Works where youth and adults sort and repair bikes for reuse, resale or donation.

At Bike Works, volunteers can “buy” a refurbished bike by donating their time in the repair shop. The general public can purchase refurbished bikes and the proceeds support Bike Works programs and bicycles not purchased locally are donated though a bike aid program to villages in Africa. Unusable metal parts and bikes beyond repair are stripped down to the frame and Recology CleanScapes delivers the leftover scrap metal for recycling. Learn more about our partnership.
