Derek Ruckman
Vice President & Group Manager – Pacific Northwest

Derek Ruckman joined Recology in 2015.  Derek previously served in various capacities for Republic Services and the Cintas Corporation.  He was born and raised in Tucson, AZ where he attended and graduated from the University of Arizona with a BS in Business Management.

Derek is the Vice President and Group Manager for Recology’s Pacific Northwest Group where he oversees facilities in Seattle, Portland, McMinnville, Astoria/Warrenton, Ashland and North/Mid Willamette Valley.


Steve Brum
Group Controller, Pacific Northwest Region

As Group Controller for the Pacific Northwest Region, Steve oversees the financial reporting, regulatory compliance, audit, and internal controls for the company, and manages the finance group including billing, accounts payable, and business development.

Steve has 14 years of experience in the Recycling and Waste industry performing a multitude of financial, business development, and municipal relationship roles.  Prior to joining Recology in Seattle, Steve worked in both the San Francisco and Portland Metropolitan Areas.  He is a graduate of San Jose State University.

Kevin Kelly
General Manager

Kevin Kelly joined Recology in 2012, bringing with him a unique background of political and policy experience from the federal, state and local levels of government.  As General Manger of Recology King County, Mr. Kelly oversees over 300 employees responsible for the garbage, recycling and organics collection for 100,000 residential customers and 10,000 commercial customers.  Recology also processes approximately 100,000 tons of commingled recyclable material annually and operates four retail stores.

Kevin graduated from Syracuse University with a degree in political science.  He earned his Executive MBA from the Foster School of Business at the University of Washington.  Kevin actively participates in the community including serving on the Washington State Recycling Association Board of Directors, as Vice Chair of the King County Solid Waste Advisory Committee and on the Board of Washington Wild.

Quinn Apuzzo
Government and Community Relations Manager

Quinn Apuzzo joined Recology in 2009 and currently serves as the company’s Government and Community Relations Manager.  In this capacity, she and her team work collaboratively with municipal partners, businesses and community stakeholders to ensure contract compliance and deliver innovative public outreach and engagement programs in support of regional sustainability goals.

Quinn is an active member of the Washington State Recycling Association and currently serves as the Vice-Chair of the City of Seattle’s Solid Waste Advisory Board.  She is a graduate of Hobart & William Smith Colleges and holds a degree in Public Policy.  Quinn and her family live in Seattle’s Green Lake neighborhood.

Kyle Kramer
Customer Service Manager

Kyle Kramer joined Recology in 2011.  His role as Customer Service Manager entails daily oversight of the Call Center and Data Quality activities.   Kyle has been an integral part of the Customer Service team and continues to lead a team of local Customer Service Representatives to assist Recology customers and best serve our community interests.

Kyle graduated from the University of Washington with a degree in Communications and currently lives in the West Seattle neighborhood with his family.

Corey Cummins
Operations Manager – Collections

Corey Cummins has worked at Recology since 2016 in various roles.  As Operations Manager for collections, Corey oversees Recology routes and collection drivers for efficiency, safety, customer service, and other operational needs.  Working with Recology Operations Supervisors, Corey helps provide driver training, assists with in-field employee connections, evaluates routes for efficiency and other duties.

Corey has over 20 years of management experience.  He previously worked as an Operations Manager at the Recology Material Recovery Facility, where he oversaw a union staff of 54 employees to facilitate productivity and optimize performance.

Erin Harbour
Retail Sales Manager

Erin Harbour joined Recology in May 2017, and currently serves as the Retail Sales Manager for The Recology Stores.  Her role includes managing store operations, inventory and employees.  Prior to joining Recology, Erin worked as a Sales Floor Manager at Target and has Executive Guest Experience.  Erin graduated from Saint Martins University with a degree in Business, and currently lives in Seattle’s Green Lake neighborhood with her family.
